Give in to the Stripe Hype

Stripes are back in a big way for spring and when it comes to patterns, designers are taking a linear approach this season. From modern zigzags to bold sailor motifs, stripes are dominating the runways. For this spring, there’s only one rule of thumb - more is more. So, mix, match and pile it on with enthusiasm. Clashing colors? Who cares! Outrageous print medleys? Why not! You’ve earned your stripes!
Now as I’m sure you are aware by now, I like to shop, so imagine my excitement when I came across this gorgeous matching stripe set from H&M. Yep, you heard me right, H&M.

Matching sets can be tricking because they can easily come off as a bit cheesy, but I absolutely adore this! The color combination is stunning and although the colors are bold it feels discreet and sophisticated at the same time. I love it. Teamed with a pair of my favorite Pollini kitten heals and my super fluorescent Comme Des Garcons pouch, I’m ready for my day.

Sienna Miller, Olivia Palermo and Beyonce get a big fashion thumps up from me regarding this trend.

Here are 2 pieces I’m currently craving

I love that this striped trench is perfect for meetings or even to a dinner because it’s thin and versatile enough to make sense in any setting. For trench coats I tend to gravitate toward coats that I can tie in the back so I can adjust how it fits around my frame. The thin stripes can compliment most body types and it’ll make a great piece for in and out of work. Trench Coat by Cameo.

I can’t wait to wear this jumpsuit out! I’m loving everything about the dark navy and white combination (I bet you thought it was black at first glance, so did I) The plunging v-neck might be a little too bold to wear around the office, but I can definitely see this at a chic Sunday brunch or on a date. It’s so cute. Jumpsuit by Faithfull The Brand.

For an alternative look.

1. Mix tailored pinstripe with bolder prints.
2. Make the trend work for evening or office with silky stripe blouses or satin dresses are just the thing.
3. When it comes to your accessories with this trend always try and keep it simple.

Stay Adorable.
