We Love you, (Faux) leather

Like florals (and apparently polo shirts), leather is here to stay; and I’m personally so glad. Designers such as Saint Laurent and Isabel Marant have made us realize that you can never have enough leather in your closet.

The good thing about leather is that it never really goes out of fashion, it’s a versatile classic that wont get outdated and allows you to reuse your favorite pieces time and time again; And this applies to Faux Leather Pieces too. Speaking of which, I’m obsessed with my leather effect layered skirt dress from Zara. From its rich wine color to its texture, this dress radiates causal chic effortlessly. You’ll always look put-together without being overdone.

Faux leather has come a very long way in the last few years. Naturally it’s more affordable than the real deal but if you do it right and follow my tips, you’ll flaunt your Faux and rock it in style.

1.     Go for texture– Even the best real leather has a certain grainy texture — and so do good fakes.

2.     Mix it up. Choose an accessory to complement the look, if it’s a dress, a statement necklace. Alternatively mix the faux leather look with other materials like wool or cotton. Bag is from Zara, The Colour block messenger. Necklace from Liberty.

3.     When in doubt, less is more if you are not used to the leather look start with small details like fun pieces such as shorts, wide belts and the cutest jackets.

Take a look at some gorgeous examples of how designers are using leather this spring and how you can leather up in style! Jacket by Saint Lauren and dress by Isabel Marant.

Stay Adorable.
Adora x
